Cargo volume at China-Russia land ports will expand by 35% to 40.4 million tons in 2023

Yuri Trutnev, deputy Prime Minister of Russia and plenipotentiary representative of the Russian president in the Far Eastern Federal District, said that the cargo volume of Russian-Chinese land ports will expand by 35% in 2023, from 29.9 million tons to 40.4 million tons.The fifth meeting of the Sino—Russian “Northeast-Far East” Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was held in Vladivostok on July 9 under the co-chairmanship of Zhang Guoqing, Vice Premier of the State Council of China, and Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District.Trutnev said: “The scale of logistics has increased significantly. The cargo volume of land ports to China will increase by 35% in 2023 alone, from 29.9 million tons to 40.4 million tons. This naturally puts forward new requirements for transportation and logistics infrastructure.The Russian deputy Prime minister reminded that the Russian president signed a common outline for the development of Dawusu Island during his state visit to China.Trutnev added: "A logistics-passenger cross-border port will be built according to the outline. An international cooperation center and tourism infrastructure will appear on the island. It is expected that the cargo volume passing through the island will reach 1.3 million tons by 2030 and the passenger traffic will reach 1.4 million passengers.
